Department of Public Imagination Pop-Up Installation
Date: July 25th, 2025 - August 10th, 2025
What if we used public space to rest & dream together? What could our collective imagining bring to fruition? Can we use science fiction to imagine new worlds into being for our communities?
The Department of Public Imagination is a fictional government office and real public art project created by Crystal Bi Wegner and Dzidzor Azaglo. Phone booths were placed in public spaces in Boston for neighbors to leave messages with their dreams, re-imagining city infrastructure to center our collective visions for the future. A space for possibility and an invitation to exist in it together.
Time: Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays | 4–7pm
Location: 545 Columbia Rd. Boston, MA 02125
